Environmental sustainability as a corporate culture

Society is becoming increasingly aware of the importance of caring for and respecting the environment, not only at a personal level, but also at a business level. The influence of organizations on the environment is enormous, and it is therefore vital that we continue to work on improving our processes and activities, to promote a reduction of the impact on the environment.

To achieve the environmental sustainability of a company, it has to seek that its activity and each of its practices have the least possible negative impact on the planet. In Grupo Baux we take this very seriously and therefore we base our entire corporate culture, our production processes and our integrated management system around a sustainable environmental policy. We start from the concept of “circular economy”: giving new life to the aluminum products that are part of our daily lives and managing natural resources in a much more sustainable way. Therefore, 100% of our products are made from recycled scrap, and 99.5% of the raw material used to manufacture them is certified scrap (ISO 14.021).

Efficient management of natural resources in the productive activity allows us to preserve them for future needs, and it is in the hands of organizations to help maintain this sustainability through energy saving, water saving or waste reduction.

In the case of Grupo Baux, one of our exponents is energy efficiency, since we only use 63% of the energy used by other alternative processes thanks to our unique production process. In addition, 100% of the electrical energy used comes from certified renewable sources.

In line with this, reducing our carbon footprint should be a priority objective at a global organizational level, and at Grupo Baux we are proud to be able to state that ours is among the lowest in the sector: 1.54 TCO2 eq/tAl in aluminum coil and 2.5 TCO2 eq/tAl in lacquered coil (Certified according to UNE standard in ISO 14.067-1:2018). Continuing to reduce our impact is one of our priority objectives for the coming years.

Greenhouse gas emissions from human activities are responsible for global warming by more than one degree, and therefore our commitment to the environment is also based on the sustainability of our processes starting from a policy of awareness of all workers, obtaining as a result the responsible use of all raw materials, energy saving processes and efficient management of waste generated.
